A night of classical music…for a cause

A night of classical music…for a cause

Music enthusiasts from all over the province gathered last November 12 at the Bataan Tourism Pavilion, adjacent to the Bataan Tourism Center and Park along the Roman Highway in Balanga City.

While it has been a practice among Bataan Provincial Government employees to celebrate their birthdays as a group by rendering outreach activities among less privileged groups, this November they decided to sell tickets for a fundraising birthday concert for the benefit of Persons with Disability (PWDs) and war veterans. November 12 happens to be the birthday of Governor Joet Garcia.

Under the artistic and musical direction of Ms. Aya Tanciongco, attendees were treated to splendid performances of well-known sopranos and pianists, beefed up by Bataan Lahing Magiting Cultural Ensemble, composed of students from our very own Bataan School of Arts in Bagac.

In his short message, Gov. Joet is considering the holding of similar events at the Pavilion featuring the musical and artistic talents of our fellow Bataenos. He profusely thanked the sponsors, patrons, and organizers who all worked together to make his birthday celebration more meaningful.
